English Lesson 1 

LI: To create sentences using expanded noun phrases

 

Expanded noun phrases are sentences that use two adjectives to describe a noun. They are used in writing to add detail to a sentence/item/person. 

 

Challenge 

Green Challenge - Write 2 expanded noun phrase sentences for each image. 

Amber Challenge - Write a paragraph to describe one of the images using expanded noun phrases.

Red challenge - Write a paragraph for each image using two expanded noun phrases within your paragraphs. Can you use the conjunctions to vary your sentences? 

English Lesson 2 

LI: To write using NOUN, which/where/who sentences.

 

Today, we are going to be focusing on writing sentences that use a noun and are then followed by a comma and a relative clause to add detail to a sentence. Look through the presentation and then attempt the challenges of your choice to rewrite or create your own NOUN, which/where/who sentences. 

 

English Lesson 3

LI: To be able to use 'Some;others' sentences.

 

Our new secret skill for writing is to begin using the 'Some;others' sentences. 

Look through the powerpoint before choosing your challenge! 

English Lesson 4 

LI: to be able to use DE:DE sentences.

 

Look through the presentation to learn about our new secret formula for writing. 

Then choose the challenge that fits your understanding of the topic. 

English Lesson 5

LI: to be able to create and use 'The more - the more' sentences.

 

Once again, we are studying another secret code to improve our writing. This time it is called a 'the more - the more' sentence. Study the presentation to find some examples of these sentences and have a go at creating your own using the steps to success.

 

Once you have practiced, complete a bronze, silver or gold challenge!
