Row 1 Home learning – Week _2__
Lesson 1 |
LI: To use ‘and’ to extend sentences. Using the sheet in your pack join the clauses using ‘and’ to create sentences.
E.g. Mom made a cake and she has put six candles on it. We have used ‘and’ to join the clauses. |
Lesson 2 |
LI: To join two sentences using and. Using the sheet in your pack you need to find two sentences that are relative (linked) to each other then use ‘and’ to join them to create a compound sentence.
E.g. Lots of people went to the party. They all had fun. When we join them it becomes; Lots of people went to the party and they all had fun. |
Lesson 3 |
LI: To use ‘and’ to write longer sentences. Using the word bank on your sheet write sentences to plan your own special party using ‘and to join your ideas. |
Lesson 4 |
LI: To explore other conjunctions (and, but, or) Read the sentences on your sheet out loud and circle the correct conjunction. You will be able to hear which conjunction is most appropriate for the sentences.
Once you have identified the correct conjunction rewrite the sentences using the conjunction on the lines paper provided. |

LI: To use ‘and’, ‘but’ and ‘or’ to write compound sentences. Using the sheet in your pack read the first part of the sentence based on a winter scene then use ‘and’, ‘but’ and ‘or’ to extend your sentence so that you can add more detail. |

Read the sentence on your sheet, using your own idea complete the sentences so that they make sense.
Then, write three sentences of your own using one of the conjunctions ‘and’, ‘but’ or ‘because’ to extend and add more detail.
