LI: Subtracting 1s, 10s and 100s
Recap place value in a 3 digit number.
Explain that we are now looking at subtraction – where we are taking away from a number.
Go through taking ones away from a 3 digit number –model using a numberline or number square (like how we did when adding)
238 – 7 = 459 – 6= 591 – 3 =
Do the same for subtracting 10s and 100s
859 – 40 = 763 – 60= 521-30=
Reiterate what happens when we cross a boundary – so if you need to go into the next 100.
Please complete the lesson 3 worksheet in your home learning pack.
