Our letter sounds of the week are:
Use these videos to support your children learning the sounds and names of the letters.
To support your child’s learning go on a sound hunt – look or all of the things in your house or garden that begin with s, really emphasise the initial sound (s) when you’re saying the objects name “ssssssssssnail”.
You can repeat this activity with other letters.
Store these items, and then you have a simple sorting game for the next time you want to do phonics. Write the letters (grapheme) on different pieces of paper and get your child to sort out the objects according to the initial sound (beginning sound).
Use these videos to support your child to learn to blend words:
Have a look at the videos with your child – can you support them to do this with other words. Find everyday objects around the house – c-oa-t and segment/separate the word with them.
Awards we have received so far.
