A preposition tells you where something is.

On, below, beside, in, next to, through are all examples of prepositions.

Task

Complete the worksheet selecting the preposition to complete the sentence so that it makes sense.

The video below has a great song to help you to remember what prepositions are and how to use them in sentences.

On your sheet look at the pictures, next to each picture there is a question. 

Task

Write a sentence, which includes a preposition that answers the question.  Then, circle the preposition in your sentence.

Lesson 5

Writing Task.

Write sentences to describe the scene on your sheet.

Remember to include;

• Prepositions – on, next to , by, above , in, out below
• Capital letter and full stops.
• Adjectives to describe – big, blue pool.
• A variety of sentence openers.

Remember 'and' and 'so' are not sentence openers.
