Work to complete if you are isolating.
Hello Year 6!
Use this page to find work for you to complete whilst you are unable to attend school.
English Writing Work
Weekly homework is set on Sumdog's Website. This is expected to be completed by Friday of each week.
If work is completed earlier, then continue using the site to build on your maths skills and knowledge!
Your weekly spellings are set on Spelling Shed. Log in to your account to practice these spellings at home and become an expert speller!
Keep up to date with what is happening in the world by reading these child-friendly newspaper articles and completing the comprehension questions based on their content!
In addition to our non-fiction newspapers, it is expected that you read each day at home. Reading can take the form of anything, whether that be a menu, an instruction guide; or a good book!
Here are 7 books that we highly recommend for Year 6 children which are of fantastic quality and help develop your child's taste in reading, expand their vocabulary and let their imaginations grow:
Skellig by David Almond
The Arrival by Eric Tan
River Boy by Tim Bowler
Clockwork by Philip Pullman
The Hobbit by J.R.R. Tolkien
Holes by Louis Sachar
Fireweed by Jill Paton Walsh
Continue practicing your letter formation and accurate joins through our online handwriting site. Challenge yourself through different formations, patterns and skills so that your writing stands out from the crowd!
Please send any completed work at the end of the week. Additionally if you have any questions regarding the work required do not hesitate to contact us in Year 6.
