Relocation of Forestdale Primary School
Exciting News
The school received news that construction works will commence on Monday, 7th September 2026, With completion scheduled for Late 2027.
Initial activities will include site setup, installation of temporary fencing, and enabling works, leading into the main construction phase. The project involves Birmingham City Council in the construction of a single-storey primary school, along with a sports field and a Mufti-Use Games Area (MUGA).

4th September Final Design Submitted
We have been working through the holidays on the design for the new building and a final design has now been submitted. As soon as we get any more information we will inform you.
Update July 7th 2025
I have been working with the project team to launch a public engagement period today, to update the school community and local residents about the proposals for the new build school, and the team’s intentions regarding the required upcoming planning application. Please look at the flyer below:

We are also hosting a drop–in event in school for any parents or residents who wants to find out more or who would like to ask any questions about the proposals. The session will be on Monday 14th July 2025 between 4pm and 7pm (parents are also welcome to drop-in after school between 3.15pm and 4pm).

The project team will be submitting the planning application in the coming weeks. Once the application has been submitted, it will be available to view and comment on via Birmingham City Council’s online planning portal:
Subject to receiving planning permission, the school development is planned to commence early in 2026, with completion anticipated by Spring 2027.

Proposal to move site approved
The Birmingham City Council has approved the proposal:
Transfer Forestdale Primary School from Wareham Road, Frankley, Birmingham, B45 0JS to a new site at the former North Worcestershire Golf Club site, 12 Hanging Lane, Birmingham B31 5LP with effect from 1st September 2026.
Proposal to move site
Birmingham City Council (the Council) is publishing the following proposal in close collaboration with the leadership and governing body of Forestdale Primary School (the School):
Transfer Forestdale Primary School from Wareham Road, Frankley, Birmingham, B45 0JS to a new site at North Worcestershire Golf Club, 12 Hanging Lane, Birmingham B31 5LP with effect from 1st September 2026.
The consultation for this proposal will last four-weeks from 20th June 2024 until 18th July 2024, this is known as the “representation period”.
The Council invites all interested people to comment on the proposal during this consultation.
