Ofsted Inspection Documents
We have now received the final report from OFSTED following our inspection on 16th and 17th January 2019. The full report can be found below:
The grades that can be awarded are Outstanding (1), Good (2), Requires Improvement (3) or Inadequate (4).
The inspectors found many positive strengths within the school and whilst the overall judgement remains “Requiring improvement” it is pleasing to note that-
* Leadership and management is good.
* Teaching, learning and assessment is good.
* Personal development, behaviour and welfare is good with outstanding elements.
* Early Years is good.
* Outcomes still require improvement.
Ofsted said that “…leaders share a clear sense of direction and a desire to provide the best for pupils, both academically and socially.” and
“The school’s curriculum is carefully thought out… pupils speak enthusiastically about their enjoyment of a range of subjects”
“School leaders have worked hard to ensure that pupils feel safe and are safe.”
"The school’s work to promote pupils’ personal development and welfare is outstanding. "
“The quality of teaching is improving rapidly and is now good.”
“Relationships between pupils and staff are strong.”
“Staff provide excellent care for pupils and their families…”
“The behaviour of the pupils is good.”
And in Early Years…
“The leadership of the early years is good.”
“Children’s learning is encouraged through a good range of planned activities.”
We are aware we need to improve the outcomes for children, especially by the end of KS2 and one of our targets is to involve parents more with their child’s education and to ensure we analyse all of our teaching strategies.
This is an exciting time for Forestdale and we look forward to continuing to work with you to ensure all of our children reach their potential.
If you wish to discuss the report, please do not hesitate to contact the school to arrange a meeting with Mrs James.
Awards we have received so far.
