At Forestdale we want ALL children, including SEND, to foster a keen interest and enthusiasm for geography through engaging enquiries leading to exciting lessons.

During their time at Forestdale children develop knowledge of the location of globally significant places and their physical and human characteristics. They explore how the processes that give rise to key physical and human geographical features of the world. Children become competent in the geographical skills needed to:

  • collect, analyse and communicate with a range of data that deepen their understanding of geographical processes
  • interpret a range of sources of geographical information, including maps, diagrams, globes, aerial photographs etc.
  • communicate geographical information in a variety of ways for example, through maps and writing
