COMPUTING

All our curriculum starts in our Foundation Stage click on the link below to see how we teach computing in EYFS

When using computing safety is at the forefront of our curriculum.  We follow SMART

At Forestdale children are taught how to stay safe whilst using technology.  They will understand and apply the fundamental principles and concepts of computer science, including abstraction (focusing on the important), logic, algorithms and data representation.  Children are taught to analyse problems in computational terms, and experience of writing computer programs to solve such problems.  During their time at Forestdale children are encouraged to become safe, responsible, competent, confident and creative users of ICT.

The documents below give an overview of the knowledge and skills taught in Computer Science (computational thinking, programming and coding), Information Technology (applying the real world using a wide range of apps and software) and Digital Literacy (use of technology to express themselves safely).
