Please stay safe during lockdown.....

We have learnt all of our numbers to 5!

So now, we have got to keep practising all of the skills we have learnt for number recognition, number writing.

We are also going to deepen our understanding of the numbers to 5 over the next couple of weeks.

This week we are celebrating Nursery Rhyme Week!

We are looking at:

5 Little Ducks

5 Little Speckled Frogs

5 Currant Buns

5 Little Men in a Flying Saucer

All of these songs and more can be found at:

Keep practising the activities from the last few weeks whilst you are at home to make sure you’re getting really good at them!

Have a go at writing the numeral 5 as many times as you can!

Have a look around your house and collect groups of 5…

Use your items to split 4 into lots of groups:

2+3    4+1    1+1+1+1+1     5+0

With a grownups help you could have a go at writing the number sentences using the plus symbol.

If you are confident, your grownup could teach you the subtract symbol and how to use it with numbers up to five.

Have a go at representing 5 in lots of different ways:

Write the number 5

Draw 5 circles

Draw 5 lines – this is called a tally

5 dots on a dice

5 currant buns

5 little ducks

Make some number cards from 0-5, cut them up and have a go at ordering them. You can choose to stick them down or you can choose to do the activity lots of times. You can have a go at doing it BACKWARDS!
