ADMISSIONS
Admissions To Forestdale.
Forestdale is a one-form entry school with places for 30 children in each year group within Key Stage 1 and 2.
Foundation Stage
Rising 3's - we admit 'Rising 3's' subject to places being available and they will be admitted in the term they have their 3rd birthday. They will attend for a maximum of 15 hours per week. Please speak to Miss Jenkins for more information.
Parents may inform the school at any time that they wish their child to be considered for a place in Foundation 1 (Nursery), but applications for Foundation 2 (Reception) are now made via the Local Authority.
Very soon after your child starts the Foundation Stage, a baseline Foundation Assessment will by carried out by their teacher. This will show us their level of understanding on entering school life and help us give your child the best possible start to their school life.
Key Stages 1 and 2
Pupils start at Forestdale at 5+ and leave at 11+
In the event of a year group being full (our present limit is 30) then we will take pupils who already have brothers or sisters at school, then pupils who live closest to the school. You have the right of appeal to the LEA against a decision relating to admission to the school.
Special Needs
Any pupil who has a Statement of Special Education will be admitted to the school on application. No other pupil will be excluded from entry due to their Special Educational Needs providing we have the facilities to cater for the needs of that particular child. The school has a wide range of facilities to allow for Inclusion.
If you would like your child to attend our school, please see full details of our admission arrangements in the policy document below and the link to our Local Authority Admission Arrangements.
