Author visit to school!
Mon 26 Sep 2022Your child will be attending an event in school with the author Alex Foulkes on Monday 3rd October 2022. Alex Foulkes has written her debut Middle Grade Rules for Vampires which was published in 2021. Your child will have the opportunity to buy personally signed and dedicated copies of her new book Rules For Vampires: Ghosts Bite Back for a reduced price of £5.91.
If you wish for your child to be able to purchase a book he/she will need to bring the exact amount of money on the day or anytime between now and 3rd October into school in a sealed envelope and handed over to Mrs Driver or the School Office.
Often pupils are very inspired to read the authors book after such a visit, and this is a unique opportunity from them to have books signed and personally dedicated.

We celebrated the Jubilee
Wed 01 Jun 2022We celebrated the Jubilee in school on Friday 27th May.
All children took part in activities related to the Queen and her reign. We then had a street party picnic with the whole school and we were very proud of the older children and how they sat with the younger children and helped them.
All the children in school helped make two collaborative Union Jack's for display using their hand prints. One for EYFS and Key Stage 1 and one for Key Stage 2.
The children took their Union Jack hats, books about the Queen's life and wildflower seeds home at the end of the day.

Holiday Club at Easter
Wed 23 Mar 2022Holiday Club at Easter – Year 1 to Year 6
Monday 11th April to Thursday 14th April
10am to 2pm
Dear Parents,
If your child receives Free School Meals there is an exciting Holiday Club being held at Forestdale School for four days during the Easter Holiday – it will be run by Premier Education.
Places are limited so it will be on a first come first serve basis. You will receive an email on Friday which gives you the link to the website to book your child’s place and the code you will need to confirm the booking. You cannot book this through school. Lunch will be provided although your child will need a water bottle.
If this is a success, Premier Education will be running similar clubs in the Summer and at Christmas.

Welcome back to Parents' Evening!
Sun 13 Mar 2022It was lovely to see so many of you at Parents' Evening this week. We will be rearranging Year 5 and Reception very soon - watch this space! It was lovely to hear your positive feedback and there were some great responses to "If you could change one thing about the school...." I will be responding to those in the next newsletter - we need to work together to take the school forward.
